Edward M. Dobre

Edward M. Dobre is a regional partner, coordinating the Bucharest and Sofia offices and a relationship partner for the Serbian practice. He is co-head of the real estate and banking & finance practices of the firm as well as of the CEE “Fly-Squad” of the firm, providing coverage throughout Emerging Europe.

His practice focuses on European cross-border M&A and private equity deals (mainly property and real estate) and all types of financing structures of international funds, banks and private equity players. Edward is experienced in all aspects of banking and finance law, but also in capital markets, project finance, corporate finance acquisitions, and derivatives.

Edward represents institutional clients, including banks and private equity partners, opportunity funds, investment banks, and capital providers. He has more than 16 years of experience handling real estate and finance matters throughout the Emerging Europe and in the finance centres of London, Frankfurt and Vienna. More recently, Edward has advised clients in numerous loan workout and restructuring deals, and offered creative solutions to problems generated by the financial crisis.

Prior to joining the firm, Edward worked for over 15 years with first tier international law firms in Bucharest: Dentons, Linklaters, and Wolf Theiss.

Edward is recognized by Chambers and Partners Europe, being described by clients as “very thorough and good in negotiations” and “always willing to offer new ideas and solutions”.
